Naomi Elizabeth "Nomy" Lamm[1] (born September 1, )[2] is an American singer-songwriter and political activist. Lamm has described herself as a "bad ass, fat ass, Jew, dykeamputee."[3][4] Her left foot was amputated at age three, to be fitted with a leg prosthesis, to treat a bone growth disorder. This trauma influenced Lamm's later work concerning body image. She is also known for her activism on the issue of fat acceptance.

Lamm was involved with musical theater during her youth. Nomy Lamm began songwriting at age nine, writing musicals at age twelve, and fronting punk bands at age sixteen. Lamm has released two solo albums (“Anthem,” and “Effigy,” ). As a writer, she addresses gender, sexuality, body image, and disability. Her most recent work has been with the Oakland-based Disability performance collective, Sins Invalid, with which she also acts as Artistic Director.
The seal has long been Nomy’s totem animal. Seals are perceived as cute and puppy-like, with their enormous eyes and neotenous faces, but they are actually serious carnivores. Similarly, Lamm may seem sweet on the surface, but her resonant, smoky, voice wields startling power, whether as a performer or as an advocate for the disenfranchised
