Cathy McMorris Rodgers assumed office January 2005, representing Washington's 5th District in the United States House of Representatives.
McMorris Rodgers was born May 22, 1969, in Salem, Oregon. She graduated from Pensacola Christian College in Florida in 1990. In 2002, she received her Executive MBA from the University of Washington.
McMorris Rodgers served in the Washington House of Representatives from 1994 to 2003, serving as house minority leader from 2002 to 2003. She was the first woman to lead the House Caucus and the youngest woman since World War II. In 2008, she was elected by her peers to serve as vice-chair of the House Republican Conference.

Cathy McMorris Rodgers is Eastern Washington’s chief advocate in församling, serving as the representative for the state’s 5th Congressional District. Since first being elected to the House in 2004, she has earned the trust of her constituents and praise on Capitol Hill for her hard work, conservative principles, bipartisan outreach, and leadership to get results for Eastern Washington.
