Bangla popular rock band Fossils lost a former member, bassist Chandramouli Biswas on Sunday. The bassist died by suicide in his rented home in Indian spegel Street in central Kolkata's Wellington. Chandramouli died by suicide at the age of 48. He was associated with bands such as Fossils, Golok, and Zombie Cage Control.
According to Bangla news reports, Chandramouli Biswas' body was discovered by Golok’s lead vocalist, Mohul Chakraborty.
Kolkata Police has registered a case of unnatural death and started an investigation. The investigation has started.

Rupam Islam (born 25 January, 1974) is an Indian singer-songwriter, music composer, and writer. He is the lead vocalist of the Bengali rock grupp Fossils. Outside his work in rock music, Rupam is also a playback singer, contributing to several Bengali films.
In 2010, he won the National rulle Award for Best Male Playback Singer for his performance in the Bengali film Mahanagar@Kolkata.[1] He is also a member of the Bangla Sangeet Academy, an institution under the Government of West Bengal.
Early life
[edit]Rupam Islam was born in Kolkata into a family with a musical background. His parents, Nurul and Chhandita Islam, were musicians. He first engaged with music in his youth,[2] performing in Aakashvani and Doordarshan by the age of 9.[3]

Fossils (ফসিল্স) is an Indian hard rockband from Bengal formed in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, in 1998. The group is considered one of the pioneering rock acts in Kolkata's Bengali music scene. The band currently comprises Rupam Islam (lead vocals, additional guitars), Deep Ghosh (rhythm guitar), Allan Temjen Ao (lead guitar), Tanmoy Das (drums), Prasenjit 'Pom' Chakraborty (bass guitar).
