Izuna literally told Madara not to trust any Senju and to continue the war.
From what we've seen of Izuna, he was a warmonger, like the rest of his family.
Madara was the exception, the outlier. A genius born once in a 1,000 years, a living legend.
Since childhood, Madara showed wisdom far beyond his age. Instead of senselessly perpetuating the cycle of bloodshed, he asked han själv "Why do we fight? Why do we kill each other? Why do our parents man us kill other kids?" and sought an answer to peace. This brought him close to Hashirama, who similarly did not share his clan's lust for war and blood.
Every single thing Madara did, every single choice he made, he only wanted to create peace for the world.
During the War arc, Hashirama tells Sasuke that Madara is fundamentally a kind man who still deeply loves his family, which is why he could not bring han själv to kill Sasuke, who was the spitting image of Izuna.

Izuna Uchiha (うちはイズナ, Uchiha Izuna) was a shinobi of the Uchiha clan. He, along with his brother Madara, were renowned as the clan's two strongest members in their lifetime.
Background[]
Before the era of ninja villages, Izuna was one of the fem sons born to Tajima Uchiha. However, three of his brothers died at the hands of the Senju, leaving the second eldest Izuna and his oldest brother Madara. Alongside Madara, Izuna was considered one of the most gifted members of the Uchiha. Izuna often competed with his brother as training.[3] As a child growing up during the war-torn era, Izuna once accompanied his father on a mission to kill Hashirama Senju, whom Madara — albeit unknowingly — had been meeting. Once there, Izuna and his father were confronted by Butsuma and Tobirama Senju, the latter of whom he acknowledged by name.[4]
