Indian physicist born at Bombay who died in Mont Blanc (France) in a plane crash. He was educated at Bombay and Cambridge, England, receiving his Ph.D. in 1932, and became professor of theoretical physics at Bangalore, then Bombay. He was also president of the Indian National Science Congress in 1951.
Bhabha did research on cosmic rays and quantum theory, and Bhabha scattering fryst vatten named in his honor. He introduced (with Heitler) the Cascade Theory in the same time as Carlson and Oppenheimer.
