1946-1947 Winter Season
Aspen Mountain opened with the debut of Lift-1. Aspen Mountain's official commencement takes place on January 11th 1947.
1963
Buttermilk is acquired by the Aspen Skiing Corporation.
1967
Snowmass ski area opens.
1977
Gay Ski Week in Aspen officially begins annual celebrations.
1989
The Little Nell opens.
1993
Aspen Highlands is acquired.
1997
The Environment Foundation is formed.
1999
One of the 1st LEED buildings in the world is built by Aspen Skiing Company - The Sundeck Restaurant on top of Aspen Mountain.

As Chief Business & Legal Affairs Officer, Rana is responsible for guiding, supporting, and enhancing critical strategic and legal thinking across the enterprise and engaging with critical stakeholders. Rana also oversees all of Aspen One’s legal, sustainability, community engagement and planning and development initiatives. Rana has held several different roles since joining Aspen Skiing Company in November of 2014, including Vice President & General Counsel; Chief Legal Officer & Senior Vice President, Real Estate; and Co-Chief Operating Officer, Mountain Division, and Chief Legal Officer.
Prior to Aspen One, Rana served for eight years as General Counsel of the U.S. Olympic Committee, including four years overseeing Government Relations in addition to Legal. In her role, she also acted as Corporate Secretary and Ethics Officer for the USOC. Rana originally hails from New York City, where she spent six years with Madison Square Garden handling legal work for the Kni
